The journey

A guarantor

A group can ask that members with the first payout slots name a guarantor: another member who vouches for them. The guarantor is told if that member misses a payment. It is a promise between members; Rotaro records it, and cannot recover money.

  1. A member asks you

Someone with an early slot picks you as their guarantor before the group starts. The group's rules say whether a guarantor is required and for which slots.

    In the app: Your guarantor.

  2. Accept

You accept in the app. Your name goes on the record beside theirs.

    In the app: Accept.

  3. Hear about a miss

If that member's payment is late or missed, you are told along with the organiser.

    In the app: Notifications.

  4. What the group's rule does next

The rule the group agreed applies the same way to everyone: a late flag, a missed count, and whether the member moves down the order or leaves it after repeated misses. The missed amount stays on their record.

    In the app: The record.

Rotaro cannot reverse a bank transfer or recover money. A guarantor's promise is between the members of the group.
