Privacy
This is a draft, written before legal advice. It must be reviewed and approved by a lawyer before Rotaro is released to the public.
Rotaro does not hold your money, and we do not sell your details. There is no advertising and no tracking across other apps.
What we keep, and why.
- Your name, phone number and email: for your account, to sign you in, and so that organisers and members can invite you and message you.
- Payments between members (amounts, dates, who said they paid, who confirmed): this is the group's shared record, which every member of the group can see.
- A device identifier (kept only as a keyed code, not the identifier itself), the type of phone, its system and the app version: to recognise your device, to spot one device being used by many people, and to send you notifications.
- A push token, if you allow notifications: to send them.
- Plan payments are taken by our payment provider. We never see or keep your card or bank login details.
- If an identity check is switched on: its result (passed or not), so that an organiser can start a group.
What we do not collect. Your location, your contacts, or your photos. A photo or document is added only when you choose to add it, as evidence in a dispute, and is seen only by Rotaro's operations team, never by other members.
Who sees it. Other members of a group see your name and your payments in that group. Rotaro's operations team can see what it needs to run the service and look into disputes and misuse. We share your details with the companies that send our texts and emails, and with the payment partners named above, only so that they can do that job.
How long we keep it. While your account is open, and for a limited period after, so that disputes can be settled. A group's shared record keeps your entries under "Former member" after you delete your account, so that the group's history stays correct.
Your choices. You can delete your account in Account ("Delete my account"). You can turn notifications off on your phone. To ask what we hold about you, or to have it corrected, contact us.
